Biography

Member of the Professional Photographers Association of New England

My name is Robert Clyde McNamara and I am the owner and founder of Dream Makers Photography. Along with my wife, Colette, we run and operate a Photography business in Vermont.
I have been involved with photography for about 40 years. It runs in the family. My father was an avid camera buff as well as my grandfather who was the director of the Photography Club at General Motors Inst. in Flint, Michigan. I learned a lot from my mentors.

In high school, I was an active member of the photography club, made pinhole cameras, build a darkroom in the basement, developed and enlarged many rolls of film for my friends and I. It was tons of fun and very educational.
During college, I worked part time in a darkroom getting research photos ready for publication. After the college years, I took a job teaching science and photography at Trenton, N.J. A few years later, in 1972, I moved to Vermont and got a job teaching biology. I started a photography club, took the yearbook pictures, Prom and even made a video for the New England Evaluation study along with another colleague.

A friend requested that I take his daughter's wedding and after viewing the results, the die was cast.
Many years later, hundreds of weddings , reunions and portraits and after 30 years of teaching, I retired, built a studio and I am devoting full time to my passion.
My wife is an avid gardener and has constructed beautiful settings for great outdoor photographic locations. Feel free to stop by and visit our studio and gardens of Dream Makers Photography. I am quite flexible and will travel from Mountain tops to Cathedrals to meet your dream.
